Suffering and the gates of Zion

There is untold suffering in this life, and it’s the way this is viewed that makes all the difference. When we look at our circumstances and say I’m suffering because ________ did this to me, or because this _________ happened to me, we will loose the true value of our suffering. When we can see that whatever has happened in our lives is a result of Adam, and our nature/spirit that Adam expresses, we are on our way to wisdom.

It’s with this in mind that we can come before our Father and open our hearts, and with fervent desire seek His healing, His comfort, and correction. The depths of our misunderstandings require the surgical expertise of our Father. He will separate us from the fallen spirit, crush our fallen concepts of our identity and restore us in Spirit and Truth. This is all for the intent of bringing forth His Son, and our becoming a son. There is no greater purpose in life than this, our nature becoming in Spirit and Truth like our Fathers.

This work of the cross is accomplished in Zion, and be seen as the threshing floor of Ornan. We sojourn to the gates of Zion, and through these gates, this is the Lords heart, and His perfect will. Here He sifts us doing the deep work in and through the Word. The Word becomes alive within us in a way we have not experienced before. In Zion we find the great paradox of death and life, of deep sorrow, and great joy. Here we find the safety and security of our true family, those gathered in Zion, and those lead by the Spirit that speaks in the nature of Christ. This threshing floor is the shaking of all we are, of all that we hold near and dear. It’s where we see through the Lord His need for grace. For we see as Paul saw.

“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin”
Rom. 7:24,25

This work of reconciliation, restoration and renewal is the work of the cross, and in this we are subjected to our Fathers Spirit, and the discipline that He uses to bring us into oneness of Spirit. It can be likened to coming from an abusive marriage, where deep damage has been incurred to our hearts. This is then followed by true love, a partner that sees us as we truly are and in word and deed loves us. And bold enough to speak the truth in love, even when it hurts for a season. If we can see this in the natural, then lift this to the 3rd heaven we can see our Lords heart. His desire for us to be prepared washed clean and enters His marriage covenant. From this we can see that our soul must respond to the lead of His Spirit, as is intended in a true marriage. From this we learn the precious lessons of obedience, and the intertwining of His nature in our soul.

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh–

for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Rom. 8:11~18

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are written in Heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, those who refused him that spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from Heaven,

whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will not only shake the earth, but also the heavens.”

And this word, “Yet once more,” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear,

for also, “Our God is a consuming fire.” Heb. 12:22~29

But of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; And the Most High Himself will establish her.  Psa. 87:5

Zion is a place where we walk together with other sons, and we feast upon the Word, and His grace. Zion is where we learn to Love the Lord our God with our whole hearts, and to Love others as we have been Loved with a pure heart and in Spirit and Truth.

Let this Mind be in You

Allow this mind to be in you

Php 2:6 (6-8) which is also in Christ Jesus, who has always been and at present continues to subsist in that mode of being in which He gives outward expression of His essential nature, that of absolute deity, which expression comes from and is truly representative of His inner being, and who did not after weighing the facts, consider it a treasure to be clutched and retained at all hazards, this being on an equality with deity, but himself He emptied, himself He made void, having taken the outward expression of a bondslave, which expression comes from and is truly representative of His nature, entering into a new state of existence, that of mankind. And being found to be in outward guise as man, He stooped very low, having become obedient to the extent of death, even such a death as that upon a cross.

There is suffering due to our ignorance, and there is suffering due to our obedience. The latter is of Spirit and Truth, and leads to an emptiness, a state of deeper understanding of “not my will, but your will”. This is the pathway of separation, meekness, and woundedness, this is the work of the cross.

“And one shall say unto him: ‘What are these wounds between thy hands?’ Then he shall answer: ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’ Zec 13:6

This inward work of the cross is unpleasant for a season, yet in Truth and Love it yields a harvest that surpasses the unpleasant season. Our father Abraham yielded to the Lords call, he left his home, sojourned to a unknown land, offered his promised son on the altar, and through this was rewarded. His example is for us today.

“For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Heb. 11:10

This discipline comes to us with the promise of yielding treasure beyond anything we can imagine, it is a matter of deep trust that we enter into this Covenant with the Lord, and from this we walk as He walked, yielded to the Father of our spirit.
“Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?”Heb 12:9

The mind of Christ is our true identity, our true source, and the means to all that our Father has in store for us. We are given the freedom of choice; He sets before us blessings and curses. It’s all a matter of the heart, and being subjected to our Fathers heart, this is the key to life.
“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
“Then it shall come about when the LORD your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you, great and splendid cities which you did not build, and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you eat and are satisfied, then watch yourself, that you do not forget the LORD who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name. “You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you, for the LORD your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.”
Deut. 6

Deuteronomy points to Zion, the land of promise, when we allow our hearts to be lifted up, we can see the promises of Israel fulfilled in Christ, and see His passion for Zion as our reward for obedience. Never mistake the value of obedience through grace, for it is by grace that we move and have our being.

“Now sin is the sting of death, and sin derives its power from the Law;

but God be thanked who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Therefore, my dear brethren, be firm, unmovable, busily occupied at all times in the Lord’s work, knowing that your toil is not fruitless in the Lord.” 1Co 15:56~58

The Gates of Zion Are Given a Voice

The gates of Zion are given a voice, they are likened to the Watchman on the wall, it is their duty to speak, and to proclaim the will of our Father. This has played out in the past, and from the past examples we can take heed.

John was sent to the Jordan River to prepare a way, to cry out to those who had ears to hear. His message was contrary to the message of the day. He stood in opposition to the status quo. When questioned by the “authorities,”
his response was simple, and true.

Isaiah 40
1 ¶  “Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God.

2  “Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, That her iniquity has been removed, That she has received of the LORD’S hand Double for all her sins.”

3 ¶  A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.

4  “Let every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the rugged terrain a broad valley;

5  Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

6  A voice says, “Call out.” Then he answered, “What shall I call out?” All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

7  The grass withers, the flower fades, When the breath of the LORD blows upon it; Surely the people are grass.

8  The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

9 ¶  Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”

Today there are those sent, to cry out in Spirit and Truth, to proclaim the beauty of Zion, and to reveal the Lord’s intent. Zion is the perfect will of our Father. It is where His nature is expressed. This is the city that the author of Hebrews spoke of, and that John the Revelator spoke of.

On the contrary you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the ever-living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to countless hosts of angels, to the great festal gathering and Church of the first-born, whose names are recorded in Heaven, and to a Judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, and to Jesus the negotiator of a new Covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks in more gracious tones than that of Abel. Be careful not to refuse to listen to Him who is speaking to you.”

And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first Heaven and the first earth were gone, and the sea no longer exists. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God and made ready like a bride attired to meet her husband. And I heard a loud voice, which came from the throne, say, “God’s dwelling place is among men and He will dwell among them and they shall be His peoples. Yes, God Himself will be among them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more; nor sorrow, nor wail of woe, nor pain; for the first things have passed away.”

May we have ears to hear what the Spirit is expressing to the sons of Abraham.

Honor Your Father and Mother

Honor your Father and Mother. This has far reaching significance indicating our true parents, Truth & Love, Spirit & Truth — our Father and Mother from above.

Eph. 6
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

To honor our Father and Mother is to Love them in return for the Love they shower upon us. This is the only source of Love, it flows from above. “We love because God first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Our Father is revealed in Christ, and so is our Mother, she is Zion, Jerusalem from above, and carries the same qualities the ability to conceive, nurture, and produce children. This is the core of our Fathers heart to see His children come forth from the marriage of Spirit and Truth. From this indwelling of Truth and Love we find the source and ability to return this Love to our parents, this is essential for life and living.

Zion being symbolically represented as our Mother from above. This was portrayed in Abraham and Sarah, and the birth of Isaac.

Paul states that Jerusalem from above is our Mother, and this reference is to Zion.

When we can see who are true parents are, we see the beauty our Father and Mother. There is nothing but our best interest expressed in them, regardless of the perceptions we may have about ourselves. Our parents are constantly looking out for our best, with wisdom, insight, and eternity all clearly in focus.

This understanding brings discipline or correction into greater meaning, in faith we can purely trust our parents, and rejoice in the correction they provide, even when it seems severe, or distasteful, we can be thankful for the wisdom, and Love that is expressed, knowing it is always perfect, and will yield the precious fruit of righteousness. This is the thankfulness in all things, for we begin to see how all things work together for good.

Gal. 4:26~31
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

To see our Mother we must seek the Lords best, and that is to see Zion as our home, and the perfect will of our Father. Here we find all that we could ever need and more, we find the blessings of the New Covenant, and the warmth of Truth and Love. We find our true family, those who are gathered along with us. Zion is the fulfillment of Bethany, a place of intimacy, of sharing, and rest. Zion is where the sons are born, and are prepared for the responsibilities that are soon to unfold.

This cannot be overstated due to its enormous meaning, “Honor your Father and Mother that it may be well with you, and that you may live long upon the earth.”

Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.” Isaiah 66:8

Our True Home

Our True Home

Acceptance, community, and oneness are qualities on varying degrees that we all seek, and to some measure find. In our heart of hearts we have a longing for unity, of seeing and being seen for who we are, as well as seeing others for whom they are.

Man has and is attempting to make this happen by many different avenues, and in some way finds a degree of success, yet there is more, much more than he can ever imagine.

The Lord near the end of His time on earth foretold of this oneness, and His prayer for this is of course our Fathers heart. The beauty of this prayer is that it was, it is and it shall be accomplished. For this prayer was in Spirit and Truth. Nothing will prevent this from being and becoming true, and our reality.

The key to this unity is Spirit and Truth, for in the Spirit we find Truth, and from this being exercised within us Truth becomes our quest in life, and we find this in and through of Lord. His deepest desire is to bring us into the oneness that He and our Father share; this is expressed in various terms such as The Kingdom of Heaven, New Jerusalem, or Zion. We enter this realm not by our will, or might, but by being born from above. This is the work of our Lord to lift up our spirit, to deeply and truly lead us into Truth, and form this to find the beauty of True Love.

John 17:16  (16-23)
Of the world they are not, even as I am not of the world. Consecrate them in the sphere of the truth. The word which is yours is truth. Even as me you sent off on a mission into the world, so I sent off them on a mission into the world. And on behalf of them I am setting myself apart, in order that they themselves also, having been set apart for God in the sphere of the truth, may continually be in that state of consecration. But not concerning these only am I making request, but also concerning those who believe on me through their word, in order that all might be one, even as you, Father, are in me and I in you, in order that they themselves also might be in us, to the end that the world may be believing that you sent me on a mission. And as for myself, the glory which you have given me, I have given them, in order that they might be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, in order that they, having been brought to the state of completeness with respect to oneness, may persist in that state of completeness, to the end that the world might be understanding that you sent me on a mission and that you loved them even as you loved me.

David saw this, and rejoiced before the Lord, this too is our joy.
Psalm 133

1  A Song of Ascents, of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!

2  It is like the precious oil upon the head, Coming down upon the beard, Even Aaron’s beard, Coming down upon the edge of his robes.

3  It is like the dew of Hermon Coming down upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing–life forever.

Zion is the heart of our Fathers perfect will, and today we can live and move, find our being in Zion. We see and are seen, Love and be Loved in Spirit and Truth. It’s here and now, and forever our home, our refuge, our identity. The beauty of Zion is beyond words, yet is expressed in the Living Word.

Yes it’s Zion that we enter His gates with deep thanksgiving, and rejoice in all that is set before us.

“They shall not hurt nor destroy

In all My holy mountain;

For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD,

As the waters cover the sea.

And it shall come to pass in that day,

That the root of Jesse, that standeth for an ensign of the peoples,

Unto him shall the nations seek;

And his resting-place shall be glorious.”
Isaiah 11:9,10
