Let this Mind be in You

Allow this mind to be in you

Php 2:6 (6-8) which is also in Christ Jesus, who has always been and at present continues to subsist in that mode of being in which He gives outward expression of His essential nature, that of absolute deity, which expression comes from and is truly representative of His inner being, and who did not after weighing the facts, consider it a treasure to be clutched and retained at all hazards, this being on an equality with deity, but himself He emptied, himself He made void, having taken the outward expression of a bondslave, which expression comes from and is truly representative of His nature, entering into a new state of existence, that of mankind. And being found to be in outward guise as man, He stooped very low, having become obedient to the extent of death, even such a death as that upon a cross.

There is suffering due to our ignorance, and there is suffering due to our obedience. The latter is of Spirit and Truth, and leads to an emptiness, a state of deeper understanding of “not my will, but your will”. This is the pathway of separation, meekness, and woundedness, this is the work of the cross.

“And one shall say unto him: ‘What are these wounds between thy hands?’ Then he shall answer: ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’ Zec 13:6

This inward work of the cross is unpleasant for a season, yet in Truth and Love it yields a harvest that surpasses the unpleasant season. Our father Abraham yielded to the Lords call, he left his home, sojourned to a unknown land, offered his promised son on the altar, and through this was rewarded. His example is for us today.

“For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Heb. 11:10

This discipline comes to us with the promise of yielding treasure beyond anything we can imagine, it is a matter of deep trust that we enter into this Covenant with the Lord, and from this we walk as He walked, yielded to the Father of our spirit.
“Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?”Heb 12:9

The mind of Christ is our true identity, our true source, and the means to all that our Father has in store for us. We are given the freedom of choice; He sets before us blessings and curses. It’s all a matter of the heart, and being subjected to our Fathers heart, this is the key to life.
“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
“Then it shall come about when the LORD your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you, great and splendid cities which you did not build, and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you eat and are satisfied, then watch yourself, that you do not forget the LORD who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name. “You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you, for the LORD your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.”
Deut. 6

Deuteronomy points to Zion, the land of promise, when we allow our hearts to be lifted up, we can see the promises of Israel fulfilled in Christ, and see His passion for Zion as our reward for obedience. Never mistake the value of obedience through grace, for it is by grace that we move and have our being.

“Now sin is the sting of death, and sin derives its power from the Law;

but God be thanked who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Therefore, my dear brethren, be firm, unmovable, busily occupied at all times in the Lord’s work, knowing that your toil is not fruitless in the Lord.” 1Co 15:56~58
