The Lords Way
The stories bear this out Abraham, Joseph, Ruth, Paul and Jesus all speak of a promise given, and a time of testing, suffering, and reversal before breaking forth. This is the Lords way of bringing forth His nature.
He is far more concerned about His nature being formed in us than any other thing, such as promises, ministry, or prophecy that is ours to be walked in. Today there are many folks striving to walk in a promise, all the while resisting the Lord in doing so. Their resistance is to His Lordship, and His complete dominion in their lives. They have foolishly opted out of the correction, and moved into the promise; this is nothing more than an Ishmael being created.
The Lords way is one of promise, suffering and then entering the promise. The above examples are replete with this message, and this is just as true for us as it was for them. We learn obedience from the things we suffer, and the things we suffer are for our good, our growth, for it is in this as our hearts are open before the Lord, that the winepress, threshing floor of the Lord is experienced, and exercised. From this we see our will subjected to the Lords will, and there is nothing in this but death to our will and this is nothing more than our reasonable duty before the Lord.
What is the purpose of this?
It’s very simple. He wants to bring you forth into an appropriation of His nature. He is not interested in what you can do, but in what you can become. Then what you do flows from what you have become.
In the Lords hands we find that His will is to bring us through the fire, to bring us through times of testing, loss, or reversal all for one vital reason, to establish His nature, essence within in us. This is the perfect will of our Father, and when viewed with vision, this becomes our will also. When we can see the great need of our coming into His will, and understand we must bear our cross. All in the beauty of our Fathers nature being established within us, it’s our cry “your will be done”. May it be so Father, may it be so.
Today the Lord is seeking vessels that will yield to His will, that will be like our Lord, and for the joy set before us endure all, all in the joy of our Fathers nature becoming established within us.
This is Love
“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
“My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD Or loathe His reproof,
For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding.
For her profit is better than the profit of silver And her gain better than fine gold.”
~ Proverbs 3:11~14
