Name and Nature
“So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.
The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.
As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.
Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:45~49
In Christ we are of a new nature, that of Christ, the old nature of Adam is experimentally overcome by the new nature Christ. This is the work of the cross, and the redemption of our souls. As this transpires we see the nature of Christ ruling and reigning within us. This is a matter of faith, as Jude expressed “contending for the faith once delivered”
Faith appropriates that which is revealed in Christ, and in this our nature is changed, from an earthly to a heavenly. This is our Fathers perfect will, and the whole creation is awaiting those who in Spirit and Truth express our Fathers heart/nature. From this the bondage and decay of Adam is overturned, and replaced with the upward beauty of our Fathers nature. The nature of our Father is how the kingdoms of this age are replaced by the Kingdom of our Father.
Our Fathers nature defies the gravitational downward pull of Adam, His nature reverses the pull, from downward to upward.
This is why it is stated that in Zion:
“Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.
And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” ~ Isaiah 2:2, 3
From Zion the very nature of the Lord is expressed from those who have been led to exchange the old nature for His nature. This is the what it means to be a new creation.
Zion is depicted in the following:
“And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.
In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;
and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;
and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
~ Revelation 21:21~27
Here we see the hope of mankind, a city whose author and foundation is God, this day is more certain then tomorrows sunrise.
“This is the LORD’S doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” ~ Psalm 118:23, 24
