To Honor is to Esteem, Cherish, to Love

The First Commandment, with a Promise

Honor your Father and Mother, this has far reaching significance, well beyond earthly or physical relationships, indicating our true parents. This is symbolized by Truth & Love, Spirit & Truth or Heart & Mind — our Father and Mother from above. We must see beyond the literal to glean the Truth expressed by our Lord. For we have in the Heavens our Father, and Mother, and it is for our well being to see this, and more importantly to reflect this honor, and Love in Spirit and Truth.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise),

SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.”

Ephesians 6:1~3

Our brother Paul was addressing family structure, and this is to be seen as applicable on earth as it is in the Heavens. This Living Word is true for all time and beyond. We must see this with His eyes of Faith.

Our True Parents are found above, as omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, all knowing, all present, and all powerful. With the character or personality described in a word, Love. All that is said, and accomplished within their children is for the purpose of Living Love. For us to know Love, and to reflect, embody their Nature,Love.

Paul also addressed this;

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the bondwoman and one by the free woman.
But the son by the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.
This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.
Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.

Galatians 4:22~26

This was and is the meaning of the Life of Jesus Christ, to express the perfect will of our Parents. He in Spirit and Truth displayed and communicated this in His earthly ministry. His Life reflected  Truth in Love. Revealing to us the Way to live, and that is in submission to our Father.

His Life is to become our life, and in His Faith through Grace we can become the children our Father and Mother long for, all in Spirit and Truth.

There is but one Way we accomplish this, it is in and through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. His message is crystal clear, we must have the humility to see, and the Grace to submit to His Lordship. Nothing pleases our Father more than to see His Son’s Life coming forward in His children. It is in this that we begin to know the depths of Love, the beauty, wonder, and magnificence of True Love. There is nothing in creation more precious than to know Him and the Power of His Love. This is the Good News!

The entirety of scripture reveals the Son, and the Son reveals the Father, and in this we find the meaning of Life, and how to live Life.

Near the end of Jesus’ walk on earth He knew His work was complete, and His prayer is for us to see being fulfilled in our lives and we learn to walk the path He leads us on.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

“O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 17: 22~26

We Honor our Father and Mother by becoming conformed in the image and likeness of The Son whom He Loves.

Patient in Tribulation

The story of Ruth is one of intense beauty, how she saw the character of her mother-in-law, her culture and her expression, and then desires to model her life after Naomi.

What strikes me in this is the fact Naomi was deeply tested. She had left her homeland, to dwell in a culture that was vastly different than hers. She lost her husband, and then later her two sons.

Naomi knew it was of the Lord, during all that was transpiring still exhibited a trait that Ruth was drawn to, there was something in Naomi, character that was exhibited in patience, wisdom, and trust.

Eventually Naomi and Ruth sojourn back to Naomi’s homeland, her she now longer looks upon herself as Naomi, and calls herself Mara, indicating she has suffered deeply.

As this story unfolds we see how Ruth is eventually led to meet her new husband, and the result of this a son is born. In Naomi’s old age she is graced with her grandson, she no longer sees herself as Mara, she is blessed by the Lord. Additionally Naomi is blessed to nurse her grandson Obed in her old age.

There are two points that strike me about Naomi.

  • She endured the trials and tests of her life, and had the grace and humility to lead, teach and counsel the generation following her.
  • Naomi’s story is one of great intrigue, as it displays the plans of God being worked out, His Sovereign will is accomplished in the midst of what would appear on the surface as random or unrelated events.

“The mind of man plans his way,

But the Lord directs his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9

Scripture relates the outcome of this beautiful story, Obed fathers Jesse, and Jesse, David, and eventually The Son of Man. The patience endurance of Naomi, and her expression of life yielded fruit beyond anything she could have imagined. All of this is a testimony to the beauty of our Lord, and the workmanship of His hands.

More on the story of Naomi click here

So we see the Fruit of patience during fiery trial.

His Word is Clear

Moses received precise instructions from God concerning the details for the Tabernacle, God communicated clearly how to construct the dwelling where He would meet Israel.

There were precise instructions for moving the Ark of the Covenant, David in his zeal overlooked this, and it resulted in the death of Uzzah. Once again details are important.

Jesus gave precise instructions, the wedding feast, healing the blind, the woman caught in adultery, the meeting place for the Passover meal, and where the faithful were to tarry prior to Pentecost are all expressing details, ones to be carried out as He intended.

Today it’s the same, remember how our Lord spoke:

“For I am the Lord, I change not…” Malachi 3:6

What our Lord is accomplishing within His disciples is of greater magnitude than a physical Tabernacle, more precious than the Ark of the Covenant, or changing water to wine.

He is redeeming what was defiled, resurrecting what was dead, reconciling what was fully opposed to Him. He is creating within His disciples the greatest feat of His entire creation, sons in His image, likeness and nature.

We must have our souls humbled before our Lord in a deeper understanding of what is before us, we must see what we don’t see, and submit more fully to the workmanship of His hands.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

This Love is not what we think, it is the very Nature of God, His character, quality, purity, and righteousness.

Yes Love is the greatest, because Love is the very essence of God, and this is exactly what we are to become in Him.

Love…

Living Love

Love is the voice of all creation, Love is the purifying fire that reconciles all, in the Name of Love.

You cannot add nor subtract from Love, for Love is One, indivisible, complete, and whole.

Love is an atomic bomb to our human understanding, in that it’s so intense, so vast, so limitless, so beyond our nature.

Love is the Alpha and the Omega of all creation.

Love is the heartbeat of our Father.

Love touched this earth, walked the path of man, embraced humanity, the whole of humanity for one purpose, to reveal Love.

In all that is written, in all that has been said or ever will be said about wisdom, truth, or life, it can be summed up in one word…Love.

Love loved us first, and foremost, and Love desires that we learn to live, vibrantly, creatively, and wholly, in Love.

There is the unquestionable need for Faith, and that our hearts beat with Hope, all in the desire, to Live Love.

may it be so…

What is Love…

Faith, Hope & Love…

Love is far more than an emotion, although Love is deeply expressive.

Love is the Nature of our Father. Love is the expression of Jesus, the blanket covering Love, that sees the best, hopes the best and is indeed, the best for one and all.

Love is divine, Love is pure, and without exception to who is included in Loves embrace.

At some point Love will be understood and embraced as the way of Life. This is our common destiny, the hope of all mankind, for all things are reconciled in God, who is Love.

When Paul stated his “when I was a child” phrase he was addressing the awakening to Life and the Truth of Love. He was shedding the incomplete, the fractured, and the divisive, and embracing the complete, the whole, and the inclusive Nature of Love, all of which is of Grace through the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Today in His Grace, Spirit and Truth we can begin to walk in, and find our being in, Love.

Trust is an Expression of Faith…

The promise of Issac took on depth, as Abraham in Faith by Grace listened and obeyed the Word.

Faith follows through with the Word, all by Grace, this Trust in action.

He that asks of us our all, is abundantly capable to provide beyond our ability to see our understand. Yet as we move in Grace, His blessings astound us, in His Love.

“Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the LORD it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14

The Key to Life…

There is a door that must open, and remain, open.

Humility is the constant key that opens our heart unto our Father.

His Grace enables Faith. His Faith enables our vision to see in many aspects, of this is to see Him, and to see ourselves from His perspective, which is True, and expressed in Love.

As we awaken to His Life we are more fully cleansed by His Word, which is His will or plans for us. He watches over us and His will to accomplish this, all in and through His Grace.

Our response is to abide, cleave, believe, and live in His realm of Life, here we find how to move, by His Grace, and know our being which is Christ.

He is the Alpha and the Omega of this. The supply and the ability, the hunger and the meal, the thirst and the water to quench or thirst.

May we respond to this Grace with Zeal!
