Patient in Tribulation

The story of Ruth is one of intense beauty, how she saw the character of her mother-in-law, her culture and her expression, and then desires to model her life after Naomi.

What strikes me in this is the fact Naomi was deeply tested. She had left her homeland, to dwell in a culture that was vastly different than hers. She lost her husband, and then later her two sons.

Naomi knew it was of the Lord, during all that was transpiring still exhibited a trait that Ruth was drawn to, there was something in Naomi, character that was exhibited in patience, wisdom, and trust.

Eventually Naomi and Ruth sojourn back to Naomi’s homeland, her she now longer looks upon herself as Naomi, and calls herself Mara, indicating she has suffered deeply.

As this story unfolds we see how Ruth is eventually led to meet her new husband, and the result of this a son is born. In Naomi’s old age she is graced with her grandson, she no longer sees herself as Mara, she is blessed by the Lord. Additionally Naomi is blessed to nurse her grandson Obed in her old age.

There are two points that strike me about Naomi.

  • She endured the trials and tests of her life, and had the grace and humility to lead, teach and counsel the generation following her.
  • Naomi’s story is one of great intrigue, as it displays the plans of God being worked out, His Sovereign will is accomplished in the midst of what would appear on the surface as random or unrelated events.

“The mind of man plans his way,

But the Lord directs his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9

Scripture relates the outcome of this beautiful story, Obed fathers Jesse, and Jesse, David, and eventually The Son of Man. The patience endurance of Naomi, and her expression of life yielded fruit beyond anything she could have imagined. All of this is a testimony to the beauty of our Lord, and the workmanship of His hands.

More on the story of Naomi click here

So we see the Fruit of patience during fiery trial.

For every cut, there is a wound, for every wound, there is healing, and for every healing, there is a revealing of the beauty of Life & Love.

Hope is Born in Trust

“For his anger a moment; in his favour life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy in the morning.”

Psalms 30:5

This verse must be seen in the Spirit, and not our literal perspective, it speaks of a realm beyond our human reasoning, one of Spirit and Truth.

We are born into this world in darkness, and must awaken to Life

Our Lord didn’t come to this earth to explain man’s world, He came to reveal Life, Truth and Love from our Fathers world. We must be open in our hearts to learn His Way.

Until we walk in the wilderness seeing our strength, nature and will stripped bare, we will still wander. We must become like Sarah, barren, past any human hope of bringing forth the child of promise.
Only from the desert can True Life spring forth.

Life in Spirit and Truth is learning from the opposites.

Death proceeds Life, suffering and loss proceed joy and peace. The wilderness is where we find our way, our place within His Body, not in the company of others.

It’s not the mature who find Him, it’s the childlike, the innocent.

It’s not through clinging to this life, but from loosing this life that we find Life.

His ways are higher than ours, in order to see we must see that we don’t see. Blindness is the beginning of Vision.

The Way that leads to Life is absolutely contrary to our way of thinking. His Way wars against our nature. It behooves us to understand this principle, allowing it to sink deeply into our hearts.

So how is Hope born?

It is simply leaning into our Lords understanding, learning to trust Him completely,in His grace submitting to His Lordship and walking with Him as He opens the eyes of our hearts to see Life in Spirit and Truth.

In this walk His Faith becomes our strength, in this we find true joy, and we learn to praise Him in all aspects of life. We find in Him Life and Life in abundance.

Paul expressed this with depth and passion;

“But what things were gain to me, those I counted as loss for Christ.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them but dung, that I may win Christ

and be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith,

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death,

that if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

It is not as though I had already attained it, nor were already perfect; but I follow after, that I may apprehend that for which Christ Jesus also apprehended me.”

Philippians 3:7~12

“For I the Lord, I change not”

The Lion and His Tribe

The ending of the what is called the Old Testament brings us to Malachi, this prophecy is and will be ongoing. It is vital for us to allow our Lord to open our hearts, so that we may hear His voice.

“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he,like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:

And he shall sit a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”
Malachi 3:1~3

The Messenger spoken of is the work of the Holy Spirit, opening our hearts to the Living Word.

We are living in a very dynamic day; our hearts must be open to hearing the Word. His Faith increases in us, as we hear The Word.

May our hearts be strengthened in His faith. We must become what currently we are not, pure, holy, and channels for our Lord to move through. The day of mixture will not stand, we are coming into a new day.

We have heard this Word before, yet it is vital to our walk to hear and keep hearing. The messenger mentioned in Malachi’s prophetic Word is here. The Living Word is accomplishing our Fathers will within the body.

“And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.” Leviticus 20:26

Our Lord is cleansing His temple, this is beyond what we have experienced thus far, He is making us truly a new creation, the day of mixture is to be replaced by a day of purity. This is so beyond our human reasoning, or comprehension. Our Lord will have His way with us. His grace is indeed a refining fire.

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” ~ Isaiah 43:18, 19

This new thing our Lord is doing is the establishment of a people that will be spiritual Judah. There are prophecies concerning this, that heretofore are unfulfilled, this is about to change.

As we see in Malachi this refining fire produces what our Father is looking for, what He has always had in mind, a people that are truly His, found not of Adam, but in Christ. Our Father Loves the Son, for us to abide in our Fathers Love, we must abide in His Son, Christ Jesus. This is the only unto or into Life, life that is Holy as He is Holy. This is our Fathers perfect will.

“Then shall the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, as in the former years” ~ Malachi 3:4

There are three prophecies that relate to the above verse, and our Lord is bringing them to fruition in this new day, all through His Son coming forward within us. This is the intent of His Lordship, to create in us His very nature, which is Love.

  •     “Judah, thou whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.

Judah a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him the gathering of the people.

Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:

His eyes red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.” Genesis 49:8~12

  • “… but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.” Hosea 11;12b
  • “For evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.” Hebrews 7:14

Our Lord is bringing about a spiritual tribe, a people that are His in Spirit and Truth, this is all through His grace, and once again we see the meaning of Paul’s statement;
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of good pleasure.” ~ Philippians 2:13

The Apostle John was able to see into the heart of our Lord, and in mystical language provide us with valuable insight into our Lords heart.

“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5: 5~10

The Lion of the tribe of Judah is bringing about His perfect will. We must see this as happening now, and turn with intensity in our hearts to our Lord.

Seeking and knowing Him, and not resisting His perfect will for us. Our limited submission to our Lord is the only blockage to His perfect Love being fully expressed within and through us.

We must see His fervent desire for establishing the spiritual tribe, all of which is found in His nature, and expressed in Spirit and Truth.

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7

Move out to Move In

His Ways are Much Higher

This morning our Lord is opening my heart up to see beyond what I’ve previously understood.

I’ll say that our calling in much more important than we currently see or understand, and it is incumbent upon us to seek and keep seeking our Lords heart.

Whatever enlightenment we have, is only so we can have a greater enlightenment today.

We must be open to our Lords desire to show us more and more of Him.

This is Isaiah 43:18, 19, and He asks us…will you be aware of it???

He pierced my heart this morning with two things.

  • The foolishness of the political realm, and the attention I was giving it.

  • The vital, critical and significant purpose of Him and my need to have my heart set in this realm.

He asked me, “when did you see me teach the disciples to be involved with Caesar?”

Our calling is an ever present calling of moving out of our limited, fallen, and rebellious nature. And moving into His unlimited, righteous, and subservient Nature.

Paul expressed this, and there is so much to see here, remembering we are to ask and keep asking, seek and keep seeking our Lord and His fullness.

Ephesians 1:19~23
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set at his own right hand in the heavenly,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all under his feet, and gave him the head over all  to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

This is a new day….

Why?

Acts of Faith

Acts chapter 4 describes a battle that the early disciples faced as the Living Word was coming forth through them. Healings were demonstrating the power and effectiveness of the Word being made flesh. The results from this were expressed in two different ways, and therein lies the story for us today.
The event that is recorded in Act 3 is one we all have knowledge of, there was a man who was lame, unable to walk, as Peter and John passed him by the man cried out for alms. The man was accustomed to begging for compassion, what he received is symbolic for each of us.

“And a man who had been lame from his mother’s womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms of those who were entering the temple.

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.

But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, “Look at us!”

And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!”

And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.

With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.”

Acts 3:2~7

Learning how to Walk

The man from his natural birth was afflicted, and unable to walk, he in this affliction understood he needed help, and was seeking help. This is a vital point; he knew that he needed help. When Peter and John saw this man they were moved by the power of Life that was in them, and spoke Life, not from their human reasoning, but from the Living Word that was within them. “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!” The results of this are for us today to see and hear in our spirit, to look beyond the literal or historical lessons and to allow the Lord to bring His Word to Life within us. Yet there is more to this story, and there was resistance from the status quo.

“As they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,

being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening”

Acts 4:1~3

Here we see symbolic language, indicating the internal battle we all face as the Living Word is heard in our spirits. There are forces that are symbolized by the “the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees” that must be overcome not by our will or power but by His Spirit. This is vital for us to see in order for us to walk in the power of His healing, resurrections form our dead ways, and walk in a realm of Spirit and Truth.

“On the next day, their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;

and Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of high-priestly descent.

When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people,

if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

“He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone.

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.

And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.

But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another,

saying, “What shall we do with these men? For the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

“But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name.”

And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.” Acts 4:5~18

The response voiced in Peter was the Lord ministering to those with ears to hear vital truth that we must grasp. The ruling authorities were confronted, and we must see the same is with us. This is an all-out offense to our natural thinking, or understanding. This is the establishing of His Lordship within us, and the Living Word becoming our source of Life. This what our Lord is looking for, people that will allow through grace His will to be established within them.

“But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge;

for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

When they had threatened them further, they let them go (finding no basis on which to punish them) on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened;

for the man was more than forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.

When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,

who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?

‘THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.’

“For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.

“And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,

while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:19~31

What we must see it that just as the elders, rulers, and Sadducees resisted the Lord and His Lordship in the exchange with Peter and John, this same condition in various ways exists within each of us. And we must allow the Word of God to speak within us boldly, shaking us free from the bondage of our captors, the false perceptions, and vain imaginations.

This is all about the body of Christ coming forward, and expressing His nature here and now today. When we take stock of the volatile condition of the world, it is absolutely clear there is a need for the rightful rule of our Lord. Man the corporate and individual does not know the way to Peace. This is expressed on all levels of man’s existence. This is the role for the many membered Body of Christ to come forward, and to establish His rule here today.

Today His Voice is spoken, and just as David spoke in his day, the same is true for us, why?

“O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,

who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?

‘THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.’

Lord we hunger for your will, and your Life to fully become ours, we believe in your Word Lord, may it be so, may it be so.

Open to The Word

A open heart is a faithful heart.

A faithful heart is a graceful heart.

A graceful heart is a humble heart.

A humble heart is open to the Lord.

“He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?”
 ~ Micah 6:8

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise”
~ Psalm 51: 17
